How many players?

Build a squad, cross the cracks, and keep enough room between “helpful” chaos and total dimensional collapse.

Confirmed: Serious Sam: Shatterverse supports 1–5 players. Steam lists Single-player, Online Co-op, and Cross-Platform Multiplayer.

The player limit

The official Steam page describes Shatterverse as a co-op roguelite FPS for 1–5 players. That means you can play alone or assemble a full five-player squad, depending on how you want to approach a run.

Squad setup

Before launching a run, decide what your group needs. The game’s systems include weapons, Boons, Intel, perks, and run modifiers, so a team that communicates its choices can make a run easier to understand and more adaptable.

Call your intent

Say whether you are pushing for damage, looking for an upgrade, or trying to create space. Short callouts keep five players from making five different plans.

Stay visible

Shifting arenas and large enemy waves can split the group quickly. Keep track of the squad before taking a risky portal, reward, or route.

Share the lesson

A failed run is useful if everyone knows what caused it. Call out a boss attack, modifier, or enemy that needs a different plan next time.

Solo or co-op?

Solo play gives you complete control over the run and makes it easier to learn the basics at your own pace. Co-op adds shared decision-making and the ability to coordinate against the horde. Neither mode changes the core advice: move, read the arena, and make upgrades with a plan.
